I have talked about them so much and there are so many videos and photos of them on the Web and I realised I haven't actually introduced our little furry bundles of joy, Salami, Bandit and Stuart ... until now:
We have been really silly. We got into the habit of picking Bandit and Salami up on to our bed (Stu can jump up himself, he is pretty strong) and let them jump off. The other day Bandit started limping a bit. He stopped limping after half an hour or so and our vet said we should just keep an eye on him and his behaviour. I felt his front legs and he didn't cry out so I didn't panic.
Anyway, he limped a little the next day and then again last night so I took him to the vet this morning for a checkup and it seems he has hurt his shoulder. We really shouldn't have let them up on the bed and then let them jump off, it is way too high and he probably hurt his shoulder jumping off on Thursday or Friday. He got an anti-inflammatory injection and some pills for the next few days and hopefully that will help him heal. If it doesn't we'll have to go back for x-rays to see if there is a more serious injury.

I have been hoping I would have an opportunity to take decent photos of the puppies for a while and on the weekend all three of them jumped onto the one bed in what will be Sprout's bedroom and I managed to take three fairly decent photos in which they were all looking at me in two of them. Here is my favourite:
The other two photos weren't too bad though:
The puppy in the blue jersey is Bandit. Stuart is on the left behind Bandit and Salami is on the right. We will get jerseys for the other two in the next week or so.
Our gas heater ran out of gas last night and I didn't get a chance to get more gas today so tonight we huddled under blankets to keep warm. The puppies never handle the cold well so they burrowed under the blanket I had which is a pretty big and warm one. I took this photo of Bandit when he poked his head out from under the blanket:
I'm sitting in my garden with the puppies. Just thought I'd shoot a short video of them wandering around.
When we got home last night Bandit wanted to be lifted up onto the bed. He made a beeline for Gina's one pillow and started making himself comfortable:
You'll see he grabs the pillow with his mouth. The puppies do that when they need to move things like pillows and blankets around. It is very cute to watch when they do it and they never damage what they grab like that. My favourite part is when, after all the shifting and jumping around, he collapses in place on the pillow in a typical Bandit move.
I shot this video this morning. The puppy on the right is Bandit and the one on the left (and growling) is Stuart. The two boys tend to go for the same bowl and Stu gets really territorial about his bowl. Bandit doesn't really give a stuff and keeps going for the bowl so Stu moves it away from Bandit. Ultimately they both wind up eating from the same bowl quite happily.
The pups had a romp on the bed this afternoon.
We just had a bizarre experience with our puppies. Salami was acting up earlier. She was standing by the hall stand where we hang their harnesses (for walking) and leads, growling and crying. At first I thought there was some bug there or a lizard they couldn't reach (we have a few of both around in the garden) so we paused TV and took a look and there was nothing there. By this time all three of them were at the hall stand crying so I took the leads and harnesses off the hall stand and put them in a box to see if that is what they were fixated on. Turns out it was so we put their harnesses on and left them to play (ie drag each other around by their harnesses).
We went back to our TV and soon they were back at the hall stand crying. When we finished what we were watching we took down their leads and put them on and sure enough the three of them ran to the gate to the driveway as if they were going out in the car so Gina got her car keys and we packed them into the car and drove them up and down the driveway a couple times. That seems to have been exactly what they wanted because we brought them back inside, took their harnesses and leads off and they were calm.
Talk about a bizarre experience. They just wanted to go for a drive in the car ...
