I'm sitting at my local car wash. My car is long overdue for a good clean inside and outside. I'm going big with the 5 star clean. My car should sparkle when they are done.
I had a very unwelcome adventure today. I was on my way home from a funeral for a friend's grandfather and a car tried to turn across my path from a stop street.
I hooted at the driver but she kept going so I swerved to try avoid her but she still hit the car I was driving. She pulled over into a side road and I turned around to go speak to her. We exchanged details and then I took a look at the damage on the two cars. Her car was barely damaged.
Gina's car, on the other hand, came out of the whole experience a little worse off.
I am really pissed off about this. We usually swap cars and I drive my car but today I was heading out to the funeral on my own and Gina wasn't going anywhere. We decided not to swap cars and I took hers. Now we have the hassle of getting quotes for the repairs, submitting the insurance claim and getting all that stuff sorted out. The whole thing is really frustrating. On the other hand I am around to type this and I wasn't hurt (the other driver and her companion were unhurt too) so this hasn't been a terrible experience. It could have been a lot worse.
